ElectraPort Smart Home – Key Concepts

At ElectraPort, all of our philosophy and product design is based on one tenet: unity. Fundamentally, Smart Homes, and all of the technology involved, should cooperate together as a single unit. 

The Smart Home must operate as a self-contained entity in order to remain secure and withstand internet outages gracefully. In order to deliver that system, we have implemented the following policies. 

Passwords

ElectraPort will never know your passwords, nor can we reset them. That ability is solely yours.

In addition, there are no default passwords that can be found online or secret backdoors built in for nefarious purposes. Access is truly and uniquely yours. 

Accounts

ElectraPort employees can’t create or remove accounts on your controller. This means that no one can lock, or open your home, view your camera feeds, etc. – except you. Our potentially disgruntled future employee can’t turn off the power in your home. A failure in our cloud service won’t render your home inoperable.

ElectraPort Cloud

Backing up your controller to the ElectraPort Cloud is completely optional. This means you are completely in charge of your data, the way it should be. If you choose to opt out of the Cloud, backups will be done yourself. 

If the ElectraPort Cloud route is chosen, your data will be stored and nothing more. We promise not to surf your data ourselves, or use any automation to do so. The only time we will actually have access is if you specifically give one of our engineers permission in order to help you restore your controller.
